"Ain't No Mountain High Enough" explores the connection between man and nature, physically and metaphorically. Creating from a woman's perspective.

The artists space for the diverse inspirations from their joint glacier expedition experiences in the dialogue between art and science. The project strengthens inclusion and opens new approaches to the natural sciences in view of the pressing challenges of our time.

Magic Carpets is called for by the EU as part of the Creative Europe program, implemented by openspace .innsbruck in Austria and supported by the city of Innsbruck, the state of Tyrol and the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Public Service and Sport.


The artists Charlotte Ostritsch (SWE), Lindsey Nicholson (UK, AUT) and Jessie Pitt (AUS, AUT) talk about their artistic practice, the relationship with the mountains, climate change, art and science, their joint glacier expedition.

LINDSEY NICHOLSON

An artist and Scientist from the United Kingdom, lives and works in Innsbruck, where she is a member of the ParTerre 6 Studio. Her artistic work explores the Limits of scientific and artistic Research/understanding and how they are important in the Society - always in person Process revelling. Irish scientific research on glaciers focusses on combining innovative field measurements with state-of-the-art numerical modelling.






CHARLOTTE OSTRITSCH

Comes from Örebro, Sweden and is an artist with a master's degree in fine arts from the Umea Academy of Fine Arts and a bachelor's degree in rhetoric and anthropology. Her works are often based on location-specific, performative Actions that are then converted into temporary installations - remains of human Activity.




JESSIE PITT

Is a native Australian who lives in Tyrol. In her works deals with the urgent Effects of climate change. is a Landscape artist, whose main inspiration is the Nature and especially mountainous landscapes. She works with a variety of media and in her creative process she intensively explores the connection between man and nature.
